Why You Shouldn't Give Up On Yourself

Why You Shouldn't Give Up On Yourself

We are in a current environment where everyone's talking about self-love and advocating for self-love, and rightfully so. It warms my heart to see how much attention is being given to loving ourselves. Quite frankly, the subject has been long overdue.

When I think of self-love I think of the various ways in which we can essentially show appreciation for ourselves and having the utmost regard for our well being and taking care of our needs. Though the definition, like many others is subjective, one I'd like to address here is not giving up on yourself.

Maybe you're thinking, that's not a form of self-love, but I'd beg to differ. However, we'll argue that point another day or you can click here to get a sound definition of self-love that will resonate with us all, but in the meantime, I want to address the subject at hand -- you not giving up on you!

My sole argument today for why you shouldn't give up on yourself is because, you are worth fighting for! That's right, you are worth fighting for. Repeat after me, I am worth fighting for!

You are God's masterpiece. You were made from the very essence God embodies. You carry invaluable worth that can't be determined by this world and its many opinions about who you are and will be. Your worth is not found in this world's opinion of you. Your worth is found in whose you are and you belong to God.

What God has made carries worth and power beyond this world's comprehension and you my friend are included in that valuation. That alone is more than enough reason to not give up on yourself. So, the next time you find yourself being hard on yourself or thinking you don't measure up or thinking you don't deserve -- remind yourself -- I am God's masterpiece. I was made with the very essence of God. My worth is invaluable not merely because of who I am, but more importantly because of whose I am!
