Big Huey
My pops was/is my hero, no question at all. Yet, at his memorial service, listening to the impact this cat had on folks' lives was just icing on top of icing on the hero cake. It was all literally preaching to the choir really, but still amazing to hear and take in.
Even in eulogizing him, it just all began to remind me how, willing vessels don't need an important title nor platform to make an impact or be of use by the Most High. God can use whomever-- wherever -- for God's greater good. All you have to do is surrender and be willing to be used.
By the world's account he was "just a barber." But his loved ones and community knew he was much more than that. God definitely knew he was more than that and had much greater plans for Huey the Barber.
I said all of that to say, don't you dare think nor let anyone tell you, that you can't be bright light and of God's use for greater good in the every day of life -- wherever you may be planted.
In Memory of Big Hue....
